Srinagar, October, 28 (KNO): Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) has stressed all the administrators to ensure for smooth functioning of the hospital transport for ferrying hospital staff whenever there is law and order problem. Working in a turmoil like situation is always challenging and risky and as such reaching hospitals particularly in volatile areas is full of risks. In such cases reaching duty in private vehicle is no more than a danger to one's life. DAK has always stressed for a contigency fund which should be duly approved in advance to ensure transport facility to the medical staff so that the staff can attend their duties safely. Doctors, Paramedics & support staff have time again proved their worth while treating & serving patients particularly in turmoil & war like situations but unfortunately Government is not paying any heed to our demand which has led to the demoralisation of the workforce. DAK is hopeful that the authorities at Directorate & Secretariat level shall resolve this issue once for all. DAK also appeals common public to ensure safe passage of hospital employees and ambulances ferrying patients and staff as employees at the risk of their own lives try to save the patients even during turmoil. DAK also stresses administrators to intervene personally and establish a hassle free hospital transport for its staff so that the safety of the staff is being taken as utmost priority.(KNO)
